AMA Building Fund: Update IV
This Month's Report
This month's report is on the financial progress of the project.
As stated before, the response to the call to support the Academy's Building Fund Drive has been outstanding. Progress, in terms of dollars, is being made on our aeromodeling dream. The reality is taking form through the enthusiastic response of AMA members, clubs, friends, and the industry.
This month, we acknowledge with pride those who have, thus far, contributed to the Building Fund in substantial measure. All of the following will have their names recorded in aeromodeling's new home. The list is complete to October 1981 and will be updated periodically.

Club Spotlight: STARS
The Southern Tier Aero Radio Society, Inc. (STARS), all 35 members strong, donated five dollars each and sent $175 to the Building Fund. They are the first AMA club in which each member supported the project 100%. Outstanding! The STARS are out in force!
Membership Response and Donations
Response through the membership renewal forms has been AMA-zing! Use of this donation box in making Building Fund donations has been heavy enough to cause a backlog of work in filling Building Fund promotional item requests. As an example, on October 19 a record $4,341.50 was received for the project using the renewal/donation method. If you made a donation in this manner, please be patient. We are filling requests as quickly as possible.
It is heart-warming to see district officers, national officers, and Contest Directors (many of whom receive free memberships as AMA volunteers) send in their normal dues money to be applied to the Building Fund. Our leaders are indeed leaders.
Many AMA members are returning credit vouchers (received for overpayment of dues, etc.) with instructions to put the money in the Building Fund. Every little bit helps. Thank you, fellows.
Volunteer Workers and District Contacts
The backbone of any campaign such as this is the army of volunteer workers. In this Academy we have district officers, both VPs and AVPs, who give the most valuable donation: their time. The following officers have Building Fund pins, patches, and information, and are making them available to AMA members and clubs on a local level. These active and supportive people do much to make this project (and the Academy) a success.
