Stolen Plane

Dick Allen (Endicott, NY) reports that his quarter-scale Fokker DR-1 triplane was stolen from a locked van in the Quality Inn parking lot in Chicopee, MA on Sunday, August 4, 1985. Only the wings were taken. The plane was powered by a black Quadra .35 engine and used a Novak RC-44 receiver and Ace Atlas servos.

In addition, another plane and parts of a third were also taken: Ralph Jackson's Webra .60-powered Windecker Eagle and a quarter-scale Fokker D.VII wing. If anyone has information on the whereabouts of these stolen items, please call Dick Allen at (607) 785-1641 or notify the Chicopee police at (413) 592-6341.

Nats Trophies

The list of Nats winners that appears in this issue identifies every competitor who should have received a Nats trophy. If your name appears there and you did not pick up your trophy at the Nats, you can still get it.

  • Send a request stating the event and place, and your name, address, and AMA number to:

AMA HQ, Attn: Bob Vojslavek

  • Include a check or money order for $10 to cover the cost of packaging and mailing the trophy.

Modelers responding to this notice are requested to do so as soon as possible. Requests received before November 15, 1985 will be processed more quickly than those arriving later (because of the rush of activity at license-renewal time).

Note: Failure to request a trophy before year-end may result in its being placed in storage, possibly incurring additional cost.

Looking Forward to the 1986 Nats

AMA's Fiftieth Anniversary year will see the annual National Contest return to Lake Charles, LA. Exact dates have not yet been finalized but should be determined by the time the next issue of Model Aviation goes to press. The approximate time frame is the last week in July / first week in August.
