“Harry Swain asked that I send you the photos I took of our display at the Fredericksburg Library’s 100th Anniversary of Powered Flight program. Harry and fellow Aeromaster Bob Snelson coordinated the April and May 2003 display.
“These photos show different angles of the library display case organized by Harry and Bob. Top row (L to R): Harry’s control-line Sterling Ringmaster; Bob’s J-3 Cub; and Swain’s rubber-powered Monocoupe.
“In the second row: a single-channel proportional transmitter; the rubber-powered Fokker triplane used by Dave Hoe in designing and building his International Miniature Aircraft Association (IMAA) Giant Scale Dr.I; Hank Mausolf’s four-channel proportional demonstration system; the club’s hats and patches; my Guillows rubber-powered Fairchild 24 Rancher and Comet .010-powered Piper PA-18 Super Cub free-flight model; and Dave Hoe’s Peanut Scale Druine Turbulent.
“In the third row are several unidentified glow engines; Harry’s Cox .049-powered Mitsubishi A6M3 Zero (sans cowl); more engines; and more patches. In front of a boxed Comet Sopwith Camel kit sit Harry’s rubber-powered J-3 Cub; his Peanut Scale Pietenpol Air Camper; and my Comet rubber-powered Curtiss JN-4 Jenny.
“The Aeromaster display ran from the first week of April through the end of May at the Fredericksburg Public Library.”
Correction
In my August 2003 column, the Westminster Aeromodelers club mentioned is actually in Maryland and not Virginia as originally published.
