For many of us, this is the beginning of the spring flying season. It is a good time to think about rechecking our equipment before heading for the flying field.

Each year countless models are lost early in the season from neglect. Take a few minutes to check all of your equipment, do that maintenance you put off last fall, and have a safe and pleasant first trip back to the field.

Charles O'Donnell of Eugene, Oregon, sent the following information and pictures. The event was the Tangent Classic FAI meet held August 16 and 17 near Tangent, Oregon. F1A, F1B, and F1C were flown on Friday, and F1G, F1H, and F1J on Saturday.

The event drew 16 contestants this year, an increase from last, and the organizers are hoping it will grow as people find out what a great place this is to fly and how well-run the contest is. Contest Directors (CDs) were Ron McBurnett from the Willamette Modelers Club, and Mike Roberts from the StratoBats.

Until next time.
