International Model & Hobby Expo
AMA members planning to attend the 18th annual International Model & Hobby Expo should note that the Radio Control Hobby Trade Association (RCHTA), together with co-sponsor the Model Railroad Industry Association, has designated a third day as trade-only.
The largest model and hobby show in North America will open exclusively for trade guests September 5–7, 2002. The change in format responds to retailers' need for more time with exhibitors on the floor. Retailers who can only attend during the weekend will also have an opportunity to see exhibits without consumers present. The doors open to the public on Sunday, September 8, allowing a sneak peek at many innovative products that have yet to hit the shelves.
The Expo expects nearly 400 exhibitors from 38 countries across more than 235,000 square feet. More than 50% of last year's distributors were from outside the U.S.—an indication of the event's international significance.
The Expo will again be held at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Illinois. For more information, contact Mary S. DeBaggis at RCHTA:
