AMA Help Guide for Assigning Website Password

The AMA website now has a password system in place for two reasons: to protect members’ confidential information and to increase the benefits of becoming or remaining an AMA member.

The following will help you get your password. This document describes common problems and provides solutions for the website password system and membership application.

The most common data problems are:

  • Your email address has changed, and your password "link" has been sent to the email address that AMA has on file — not your current address. The solution is to provide AMA with your current email address by emailing membership@modelaircraft.org or calling (800) 435-9265.
  • AMA data has no birth date for you or has an incorrect birth date on file. The solution is to provide AMA with the correct information at membership@modelaircraft.org or (800) 435-9265.
  • Your name does not appear exactly as it is on your membership card. The solution is to re-enter the data exactly as it appears on your AMA membership card.
  • Your address data is incorrect or no longer current. The solution is to update your address at membership@modelaircraft.org or (800) 435-9265.
  • You encounter problems inserting your date of birth. If you are new, select the New Membership category to finish filling out the application. This will allow you to insert your birth date.

If you are renewing, retrieve a password. After you insert your AMA number and password, select the Verify button and your information will automatically be inserted into the correct fields. You are unable to make changes to your birth date when you are renewing.

(Your password must be at least seven characters long and is case sensitive. REFTER5 is not the same as refter5 or Refter5.)

  • You haven't received the email message with the information required to assign a password. The solution is to add webmaster@modelaircraft.org to your internet service provider's "safe sender" list. Check to make sure that the email message isn't being placed into the "spam" or "bulk" category.
