Inventing Flight

AMA members who plan on visiting the International Aeromodeling Center in 2003 should consider a trip to nearby Dayton, OH, which will host an important celebration of the Wright brothers and man's first flight in a powered aircraft.

The year 2003 marks the 100th anniversary of the historic flight.

Orville and Wilbur Wright grew up in Dayton, OH — approximately 75 miles from the International Aeromodeling Center, located in Muncie, IN.

Inventing Flight: Dayton 2003, the non-profit organization planning Dayton's celebration, will offer a yearlong series of educational, arts and cultural, sporting, and, of course, aviation events commemorating the birth and future of aviation. Inventing Flight is supported by the Academy and dozens of other aviation-related organizations. For more information, log onto www.inventingflight.com or contact Inventing Flight: Dayton 2003, 1152 W. Third St., Dayton, OH 45407; Tel.: (937) 222-0065.
