"Three decades ago, this species could be found," wrote Doug, "but methinks they got 'high-teched' out of favor. Nevertheless, Harold seems to have lost none of his boyish enthusiasm for having fun in our hobby."

Somewhat Modified

David Worthington (55805 Cedar Rd., Mishawaka IN 46545) submitted this photo of his son John holding David's "somewhat modified" Goldberg Mirage Electric.

David flies from a grass field, so he replaced the stock wire landing gear with aluminum and used 2½-inch wheels. Power was also beefed up with a Master Airscrew 2.5:1 gearbox and Stinger 12 x 6/10 prop. A Castle Creations Pegasus 35 speed control was used.

For ground maneuverability, a steerable tailwheel was added, with separate cable control to the rudder servo.
