Harrington Hawk
Because of a misunderstanding, the paper gliders in our advertisement have their fins bent up rather than down. A Harrington Hawk with the fins up flies well unless it stalls or becomes severely yawed. Then one fin, and next the other, seems to stall the aft part of the wing that lies between them. The result is a falling-leaf maneuver. With the fins down this does not happen. We apologize for the error.
Charles McCutchen Hotel Harrington Washington, DC
The advertisement last month showed the nifty folded paper glider with the fins up like the one illustrated on the left—but really the fins should be down, as shown on the right. This month's ad by Hotel Harrington has been fixed to show the fins correctly.
Baker's P-61 Black Widow
Exactly what I was looking for! I was starting to draw my own plans, but you saved me the trouble. The article (February 1982) describes the model's flight as nicely as the real thing was. I flew Widows in WWII—South Pacific and Philippines. Had two kills with a Widow.

Human Interest
A man never walks so tall as when he stoops to help a small child.
Cole Onstad, seven-year-old son of Chris Onstad, who comes to the flying field of the Thousand Oaks Soaring Society (California) with his dad and/or grandfather (Bob Onstad) and shags winch lines until his legs are ready to fall off, or helps drag the field when needed, has finally been rewarded. Grandfather Bob gave Cole an Olympic 650 kit. Mike Puckett gave him his Aero Sport II radio complete with receiver, two servos, battery pack, and charger. Father and son, Chris and Cole, now have the plane built, and Cole is flying it. Chris also is getting Cole membership in TOSS and AMA.
How many clubs can boast of having three generations of pilots flying at the same time? Walk tall, guys, because this is what life is all about: helping a little boy.
