The Microhenrys

By Ed Henry

Pete's Maneuvers

  • Pete sure does a lot of maneuvers.
  • That's because he can't fly straight.

Practice and Praise

  • Howard: How did I do?
  • George: Well, Howard... if you practice long enough you could become a good flyer... but unfortunately you won't live to be 120.

The Landing Nobody Saw

  • Howard: Say, Jacque... did you see that landing I just made?
  • Jacque: No, I didn't, Howard.
  • Howard: How 'bout you, Carl... did you see it?
  • Carl: Nope. I didn't see it either.
  • Howard: ...I finally made a good landing and nobody saw it.
  • Voice: I saw it, Howard.
  • Howard: I am the king of all I can see.

A Heady Achievement

  • Narrator: It has kind of gone to his head... he just made his first intentional loop.

Rodney's Airplane

  • Narrator: Oh dear... Rodney's airplane flew away.
  • Rodney: Sure, go ahead and leave me... the one who loved you so much... you'll be missed.

Lost and Found (or Not)

  • Passenger: Say... where is this new guy taking us?
  • Helper: This is the last time I'm ever going to help you find your airplane.

Emergency and Recovery

  • Pilot: I think you are going to crash, Jacque.
  • Copilot: You better do something quick!
  • Jacque: No problem... I just hit the air bag switch.

Showing Off

  • Narrator: Joe is really a good flyer... but he always has to flaunt it.
  • Observer: If I could fly like that, I'd flaunt it too.
  • Observer: You better get some altitude if you are going to fly like that.

Claude's Approach

  • Pilot: I think Claude is getting ready to land.
  • Passenger: How can you tell?
  • Pilot: His dog rolls over and plays dead.
