Project Three-Way

PROJECT THREE-WAY (named for the famous Cincinnati chili‑spaghetti‑cheese combination) was developed in response to a reader suggestion following our last beginner‑oriented issue (January 1995).

Reader suggestion

"Why don't you do an article on the care and feeding of ready‑to‑fly engines? There are millions of them around, just waiting to be revived and put into new models. And how about some models for these engines?"

The three "ways"

Herewith we present a model from each discipline—three "ways"—designed for those "revived" ready‑to‑fly engines. While there are a number of engine choices, the models were designed so that a single engine could be used for all three airplanes.

Where possible, materials to build each model can be obtained from a single mail‑order source to help those without the luxury of a well‑stocked local hobby shop.

Engine article

Larry Renger begins a two‑part look at the various Cox 1/2A engines, with historical background and tips and tricks on how to care for these engines.

Plans and pricing

So pick your favorite "way," or build all three—and check out Larry's engine article. There's something for everyone, and we're offering a special group price for the plans.
