Hotel and Headquarters Information
Special rates for AMA members and their families are available at the Headquarters Hotel — The Holiday Inn, Chesapeake. For those who make room reservations directly with the Holiday Inn (not through AMA), the rate is a flat $60 per room. The hotel must be called through their regular number (1-804-523-1500), not through their 800 number, and callers must identify themselves as being with AMA for the Aeromodelling World Championships. The $60 rate is available from Saturday, August 26, 1989 (team arrival date) through Sunday, September 3 (Monday, September 4 is Labor Day).
The Holiday Inn Chesapeake will serve as the AMA-AerOlympics headquarters for welcoming teams, registration, model processing, team manager meetings, and the closing banquet (Saturday, September 2). It will be the gathering place for everyone connected with the World Championships when not at the contest site.
Support and Participation
Two ways to support and participate: Official Supporters and Patrons.
Supporters
- Contribution: $50, payable to AMA.
- Benefits: "Pit pass" type identification valid for the whole AerOlympics week, allowing access beyond the airfield spectator lines to mingle with teams and officials.
- Includes: A set of the official AerOlympics souvenirs (same items as described for Patrons).
Patrons
- Contribution: $15, payable to AMA.

By ordering Patron kits now, you are assured of obtaining these limited-edition collector items. Kits will be provided upon arrival at the event for those who attend, or mailed immediately after the event for those who do not participate in person. Only one production run of these kit items will be made.
Proceeds from the sale of these kits will help offset the cost of hosting the World Championships so that AMA dues money will not be needed to subsidize the event. Purchasing kits supports the U.S. teams in Aerobatics, Pylon Racing, and Helicopters and helps the AMA avoid a deficit in hosting this international contest.
